Practice what you preach

I live and breathe magick every single day, to me it is a lifestyle. It has been for a considerable number of years now, I meditate, I try to find the balance in an otherwise unbalanced world. Balance in life can only come when there is balance within. Healing can only come to the degree that we are made whole. It is this imbalance between Black and white, dark and light, Yin and Yang, feminine and masculine, Goddess and God, which has created the holes we find ourselves trapped in. Every level of existence suffers this imbalance - physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual. And the imbalance plays out in every action in the world. That imbalance between Light and Dark is the source of real evil. As most Black magicians, I do the Dot, I meditate on the sigils of entities who aid me, read the work of others, and delve into the abyss that is my mind. I perform mantras, invocations, evocations, and practice spells. One must be devoted to the craft. I have a daily routine of Magickal practices that are a major part of my life. Magick is a passion, one that brought me indeed great pleasures and has helped me surmount indescribable pain. For those of you who do not know what the Dot is I will tell you. The Dot is a concentration exercise where one sits and basically stares at a Dot on a piece of paper about the size of a pound coin. The magician can only think of the Dot and have complete focus on it. It is great for developing a strong magickal gaze. Single thought focus is a key to mastering black magic as without it you cannot hope to cast any of the more powerful and effective spells. When performing a ritual it is important to stay on topic and only focus on the ritual. Believe me, you can destroy a spell or ritual with the simple thought that takes you away from your prime focus. If you are serious about mastering magick then you need to practice. It is like any other skill if you want to become a master you need to put in the time and effort into developing your skills. No one said it was going to be easy, and I will tell you it is not, the brain is stubborn and wants to play its own game. It is up to you to harness it and control it. Only then can you unlock the great power that hides within. ii-wy em Hotep - Patrick Gaffiero
